Luxury Holidays in Dominican Republic
Dominican Republic is one of the Caribbean’s most popular islands with laidback Latin American charm, tropical landscapes, beautiful beaches and a mix of French, Spanish, Haitian and African Influences. The northern coast looks out across the Atlantic Ocean and the Southeast shores are surrounded by the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Playa Dorada is the biggest and most popular resort on the north coast, meaning the “Golden Beach” it has a long stretch of beach and its own 18-hole championship golf course. The purpose built resort has a number of hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, a casino and shopping plaza. This resort is ideal for travellers of all ages and is popular with honeymooners and golfers.
The resort of Costa Dorada shares its beach with Playa Dorada, just 750m away, a slightly quieter resort and a beach lover’s retreat excellent for singles and couples. Entertainment is mainly hotel based.
Bahia Maimon is a peaceful resort home to the Riu chain of hotels. The five star hotels in the complex share a golden sand beach with a separate cove for water sports activities. With hotel-based entertainment, the perfect sun worshipper’s retreat, an excellent resort for couples and families of all ages.
Sosua is a good resort for young couples seeking an active beach holiday, with a great laid back authentic atmosphere. Centrally located on the north coast the main attraction of this resort is the beach of fine white sands with its protected coral reef and some of the clearest waters on the island ideal for snorkelling and lined with a variety of shops, bars and restaurants.
Cabarete is a windsurfer’s paradise, with a 6km beach and superb dining. This resort enjoys some of the liveliest nightlife the Dominican Republic has to offer.
Luperon is a small village located approx. 60 minutes from the airport, situated on a remarkable beach ideal for water sports. This resort appeals to those seeking a peaceful and relaxing beach holiday.
Punta Cana (PUJ) and La Romana (LRM) airports serve the resorts on the south and east coasts of the island.
Punta Cana is made up of a number of areas including Bavaro and Uvero Alto. This is area on the East coast is one of the choices for the perfect beach holiday or honeymoon. The hotels in this area are developed to have every amenity available to guests, with an abundance of top quality restaurants, activities and water sports incorporated within the all inclusive resorts.
Bayahibe is a small fishing village on the south coast with six miles of white sand beaches and crystal clear Caribbean waters offering the best snorkelling in Dominican Republic. There is something for couples and families of all ages, with high standards of accommodation. This is the ideal resort for simply relaxing in the sunshine.
Juan Dolio and Boca Chica located on the south coast, have the best of both worlds absorbing the culture, shopping and nightlife of the nearby city of Santa Domingo but also laidback, friendly and relaxing. The Boca Chica beach of crystal clear waters and powder white sand is a protected reef lagoon, with no waves or deep waters. The resort may be recognised as some areas where used when filming motion pictures such as “Apocalypse Now” and the recent remake of “King Kong”.
Grab a sun lounger, a rum cocktail, learn the merengue, indulge in the many water sports on offer, go golfing, horse riding or take an excursion and explore the island. With many resorts and activities to enjoy on both coasts you will be spoilt for choice in Dominican Republic.
