Location

Rendezvous is located on Malabar Beach. A small airport for domestic traffic is located nearby, thus some aircraft noise can be heard. Transfer time from international airport is 1 hour 30 min.

Accommodation

On a romantic holiday for couples, your room is obviously of paramount  importance,  and it is here that Rendezvous outshines other hotels. No other couples-only resort in the Caribbean offers you this standard of choice, luxury and originality at such a reasonable price, which is maybe why we won Thompson's Gold Medal for 'Best Far Away Shores Accommodation.' Despite this accolade we did not want to rest on our laurels, and we spent seven million dollars in 2003 on improvements that help us live up to such a lofty recommendation.

Each room is air conditioned and furnished in Caribbean style natural rattan or mahogany with a solid maple 4 poster king size bed. We invite you to open your balcony or terrace and catch the sunrise or enjoy breath-taking sunsets over the majestic Caribbean sea.

Each room is equipped with direct dial telephones, a CD player, clock radios, 110 & 220 volt outlets, marble floors (except in the Oceanfront cottages), private bath with tub and shower, hair-dryers and razor points, tea/coffee facilities, in-room safes, iron, ironing board, complimentary beach towels with towel exchange service and a hospitality tray. Rendezvous' rooms and suites do not have TVs.

Garden View Rooms

These rooms have glass sliding doors that give great views from inside as well as on the terrace and are situated in a three storey block overlooking our lush tropical gardens. The interior is elegantly decorated with architraves featuring hand carved rosettes and spacious hardwood closets. The room is stylishly finished with marble floors and in lively Caribbean colours contrasted with furniture of Tan Arbour finish including a king size 4 poster bed, custom made étagère and Durban side chair. The patios and balconies all have teak patio furniture. The bathrooms have bath and showers, marble floors throughout and marble vanity units.

Veranda Suites

Our most popular category are spacious rooms with sitting areas and large verandas located in a two-storey building facing the lush tropical gardens. The detailed highlights of the rooms are of traditional Caribbean styling with hand carved rosettes. The mahogany 4-poster bed is complemented by fluffy down cushions and the sitting area has an overstuffed loveseat with ottoman.  Ceiling fans create that homely feel as they circle slowly below painted cathedral wood ceilings on the upper floor.  The suites open onto large 12-foot verandas that are decorated with two steamer chairs with integral footstools as well as a teak coffee table and chairs.  The bathrooms are finished with Spanish marble, frameless glass shower doors and three body showers. The room is also equipped with a mini refrigerator and tea and coffee making facilities.

Seaside Suites

Aside from the wonderful gardens just outside, the hopeless romantic will love these rooms as they overlook the Seaside Pool. Enough to tempt you in for a midnight swim!  These suites also enjoy the same facilities as the veranda suites.

Luxury Oceanfront Rooms

This vine covered three-storey traditional Caribbean Style Building is located directly on the beachfront. Each room has its own private patio or balcony which is furnished with a sitting hammock that overlooks the Caribbean Sea. The large bathrooms have glass block walls that allow natural light to filter through. A marble vanity unit, a large wicker peacock chair and étagère are all included. The bedroom furniture is made from hardwood with hand carved details including a large six-drawer dresser, a desk and Durban side chair, loveseat and ottoman. The 4-poster beds are made of mahogany and the soft furnishings are of bright Caribbean colours.

Oceanfront Cottages

Each cottage is a fairytale dream enhanced with hand carved eaves, moulding and handrails. The patios have comfortable steamer chairs with thick cushions, so sink in and watch the sunset. These rooms are set on new hardwood floors and have cathedral style ceilings. Laura Ashley's chaise lounge or love seat, invites you to cosy up for early evening relaxation.  After dinner, create that special mood as the two of you glide to the music of your favourite CD. When you finally retire to your oversized bed, you can fall asleep just listening to the lapping waves...Can it get any better than this?

Luxury Oceanfront Suites

These rooms are located in a three-story building along the beach. It's not difficult to feel like a romantic at Rendezvous, but when you step into these rooms, you feel like Royalty. These suites are truly outstanding, decorated with fabrics and linen of red and gold fit for a palace. The marble floors in the split-level living area and bedroom are complemented by glass block walls in the bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub. The suites have all the facilities of the other rooms, including mini refrigerator and CD player, with a hammock on the patio or balcony for the ultimate in relaxation.

Restaurants and Bars

At Rendezvous, fine food is an essential part of the romantic and social experience.  There is nothing more romantic than savouring a great meal together.  Breakfast and lunch served in The Terrace restaurant, with its panoramic ocean view, offers a choice of delicacies.  At night, The Terrace becomes a candlelit haven of romance with truly gourmet fare.

In the elegant Trysting Place, couples really celebrate their relationships.  The style is characterised by fine bone china, crystal, damask linens and the gentle playing of our resident guitarist. 

Service at Rendezvous is highly personalised.   We are happy to set up a very private and romantic table on the beach if you so wish.

2 restaurants (reservations required at Trysting Place) and 3 bars including Piano Bar. There is a dining exchange programme with our sister hotel LeSport (travel extra). There is music and dancing and great entertainment each night, so if you don't feel like retiring to bed early, the Terrace Bar is the centre point for you to mingle, enjoy your favourite cocktail and to sit back and enjoy the evenings festivities.  If you prefer a cooler atmosphere, the air-conditioned Piano Bar stays lively until the last guest goes to bed.

Terrace Restaurant

The Terrace Restaurant is set on the water's edge and is the perfect spot from which to enjoy a cold drink or fine open air dining. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet style on the terrace. The lunch and dinner Buffet Themes change daily from Italian to Asian Fusion to rich international specialities. There are also several ethnic Caribbean flavours as well as local dishes incorporated into the menus to provide a sample of typical St. Lucian cuisine. A grand Beach Barbeque is hosted once weekly and is complemented by the music of a live Steel Orchestra during dinnertime. The party culminates with a limbo and fire eating display.  Dress code in the Terrace Restaurant is relaxed, though during the day, guests are asked to wear shoes and cover-ups over swim wear. Dinner on the Terrace is also relaxed.

Piano Bar

The Piano Bar is where you will find lively entertainment in the style of a pianist and sing-along. This is the place to meet up with your favourite couple, or the place to meet new friends. Our pianist indulges couples with melodies on the Baby Grand Piano nightly.  You can sing along or simply spectate! The nightly routine of chatter, drink and sing-along goes on in this cosy bar until the last couple strolls into the cool Caribbean night or early morning air.

Trysting Place

The air conditioned fine dining restaurant - The Trysting Place - is open for dinner six nights a week, with a fabulous à la carte menu. Good bottled wines are served along with a supplementary listing of the higher end wines for those special occasion nights that you may wish to indulge. Specialised meals are also available on request for vegetarian, vegan, low cholesterol and low salt diets. Simply advise our restaurant manager on the day you arrive and our team of chefs will work to pamper your pallet.  We ask guests dining in the Trysting Place to dress "elegantly casually" - long trousers and shirts with collars for the gentlemen, please.

If you prefer to have an even more intimate experience, you may be interested in our extravagant special occasion menu. This menu is available at an additional cost and the dining experience includes a romantic candle lit table for you out on the sand, in the gardens or any other special spot you may have found at the resort.  And if you want to make your dining experience even more special, you may choose to engage the services of your very own personal musician.  You can quietly dine with your partner and be alone in the world of romance, the memory of which will last forever.

St. Lucia's sandiest and longest beach is reserved for you at Rendezvous. St.

Lucia has many beaches dotting its coastline, but only Rendezvous offers you two miles of white sand in which to sink your toes. This is as pleasing for a morning jog as it is for a hand-in-hand twilight stroll, perhaps sharing a bottle of champagne.

It is also a beach meant for lounging and lazing as you allow the constant whisper of the surf to take your minds away from the cares you left at home. Park yourselves under a palm tree to share (as Shakespeare said) 'green thoughts in a green shade.' Cast your eyes on the distant mountains of Martinique just peeking hazily above the horizon. Perhaps escape the brilliance of the sun by taking a few steps up to the Terrace Bar for something cold and delicious. It's easy to get into conversation if you feel like it. With only the company of other couples, Rendezvous has a special, open atmosphere where you not only share this beautiful beach; you also share the exalted status of being a couple!

Beach towels are included and provided on exchange at the Towel Exchange Hut located on the beach.

Gardens

Rendezvous is like a vast botanical garden, so it is no mystery why we say it is a place Adam and Eve might envy. Within its 7 acres, paths wander through a lush tropical landscape of trees and shrubs that flower with the colours of the most vibrant rainbow. The air is scented with the blooms of orchid, oleander, hibiscus and other exotic vegetation. In secluded places in the gardens you will find hammocks for two tucked among the trees. One great prize is the 150-year-old giant Saman tree. Within its majestic spread, its huge branches are lined with tiny lights that cast a romantic glow at night. After dark, the tree frogs trill a lullaby that soothes your mind into perfect sleep. And of course, this wonderful garden paradise is perched right on St. Lucia’s longest white sand beach with the murmur of the sea to keep you company. There is magic here to stimulate your senses.

Turn the stresses of organising a wedding into a simple telephone call to your travel agent to book your holiday. The rest is up to the Wedding Specialist who will take care of every detail of your very special day. (FREE weddings include ALL Government and Licence fees)

There is no extra charge for the ceremony. You can choose to marry in the lush gardens, under the 150 year old Saman tree or on the beach with a view of the surf as the backdrop. Included are: legal fees, marriage licence, registrar fees, witnesses, if required, decorated wedding arch, champagne reception, specially decorated table for dinner, breakfast in bed the morning after the ceremony and the services of the wedding specialists.
