Location

Komandoo is located at the top of the Lhaviyani Atoll, about 130 kilometres north of Male' International Airport. The transfer is a scenic 40 minute seaplane flight over the North Male' and Lhaviyani Atolls, offering breathtaking views of reefs and lagoons in shades of blue and aquamarine, before bringing you to the landing platform at Komandoo.

Accommodation

Komandoo Island offers spectacular Beach Villas, stunning Jacuzzi Beach Villas as well as Romantic Jacuzzi Water Villas.  The spacious air-conditioned accommodation with all modern amenities is tastefully decorated. Every Villa has a terrace overlooking the white powdery beach and the clear turquoise water.

Beach Villas

Komandoo's Beach Villas are all very attractive individual spacious bungalows in the shape of a shell, built in wood with well-designed furniture.

Each Beach Villa has a large wooden terrace overlooking the beach with sun lounges. The deluxe bathroom, partly open-air, with walk in hot and cold desalinated water shower in a lovely tropical garden is equipped with a circular glass shower cubicle, WC, twin wash basins with mirror, hairdryer and 230 DC shaver point.

Jacuzzi Beach Villas

Romantic Villas with views of the Indian Ocean line the eastern beach a few steps from the beautiful lagoon. These Villas have a spacious bedroom and sitting area. They are gracefully furnished and have shaded wooden terrace over the beach with sun beds.

Each villa has a spacious secluded tropical garden with a wooden deck and a Jacuzzi. The deluxe bathroom with walk in hot and cold desalinated water shower is equipped with a circular glass shower cubicle, WC, twin wash basins with mirror, hairdryer and 230 DC shaver point.

Jacuzzi Water Villas

Magnificent Water Villas on wooden columns in the beautiful south lagoon with romantic views from a large, secluded, furnished, partly roofed terrace and sundeck with stairs down to the water. On the terrace you lie in comfort on a double sun lounger or under shade on a daybed. Enjoy awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Indian Ocean or watch baby reefsharks learning to hunt or small rays resting in the quiet lagoon. These Villas have a spacious bedroom and sitting area and are exquisitely furnished with solid teak furniture. Bathrooms with walk in rain shower and a Jacuzzi bath overlooking the turquoise lagoon. Beach towels are provided in all the Beach Villas.

Restaurants and Bars

The Public areas, like Bar, Restaurant and Spa are all built in picturesque Maldivian style, with thatched roofs and exquisite furniture.  In the romantic restaurant a deck extends over water giving the unique experience of dining over water.

Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner is served daily with Mediterranean and International influence combining with local cuisine. Guests can enjoy different Theme Nights which include fresh tropical fruits and delicious selections of sweets.

Aqua

Aqua, the new a-la-carte' restaurant built on stilts above the water adds a new dimension to the facilities on Komandoo. Aqua is not just another restaurant, but extends to add variety in dining options. Guests can now choose from a Bed and Breakfast option right up to the Gold All Inclusive option.

On checking in to the resort guests will be issued with a Gold All-Inclusive-card. This must be worn at all times as a manner of identifying yourself to the relevant resort staff in the dispensing of any item or activity included in the Gold All-Inclusive-package.

Should you wish to invite guests or staff for drinks, or any other item included in your Gold All-Inclusive-package, you must purchase this drinks or service at the standard rate.

Activities and Amenities

The well stocked souvenir shop offers a wide variety of handicrafts, clothes and everyday necessities. There is also a small internet café with internet access.

Sports

Why not try the canoes and paddle slowly around the Island, or on a windy day there is a complete range of windsurfing equipment. The use of the canoes and windsurfing boards are available complimentary to all our guests.

Snorkelling & Diving

Komandoo ProDivers is a 5-star PADI Dive Centre. Guests are offered modern equipment, excellent facilities and a variety of dive courses. No additional cost for Nitrox diving.

More than 40 dive sites are located in the area around Komandoo. All dive sites are within reach in 10 to 45 minutes by boat. Boat trips are available everyday of the week - mornings and afternoons.

Full day, early morning, and night dive excursions are organized regularly. Independent day and night diving is available at the house reef that is located close to the beach all around the island. The house reef has four exit and entry points and the two jetties on either side of the island lead you right over the reef edge.

All diving education is conducted within the PADI standards and instruction is available in German, English, Spanish and French. The PADI Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver course starts every week.

Other courses are conducted on a request basis. For specialized courses it is advisable to send in your requests before your arrival. Specialty courses like Shark Diver, Marine Protector, Equipment Specialist, Marine Biologist, Drift Diver, Night Diver, UW Photographer are available.

Excursions

There is a wide range of trips & tours to choose from; live your dreams on a deserted island for a day, a snorkel safari or visit a nearby local cultural island. Join the luxury sailing yacht "Britt" on a day-cruise or perhaps a sunset cruise.

Entertainment

Komandoo is a haven for a relaxing holiday. Keeping in line with this theme, the evenings' entertainment is purposefully programmed to be low key, light and enjoyable with the only exception being the disco evening once a week.
