Punta Cana International Airport is approximately 19.25 mils (31 km) away, which represents a drive of approximately 35 minutes to Grand Paradise Bavaro (an Amhsa Marina Resort) and 90 minutes from La Romana International Airport.

With a Theme park(s) nearby and points of interest including the Plaza Bávaro (shopping) 7.5 mi (12 km) away. The Manati Park (eco-park, dolphin encounters) 9.5 mi (15 km) and the Cocotal Golf Course - 12.5 mi (20 km) and Cabeza de Toro golf course - 18.75 mi (30 km)

Accommodation

The Grand Paradise Bavaro offers 504 guest rooms in six exotically coloured three storey buildings (without elevators) arrayed around a large central courtyard with two lagoon-style swimming pools and a fountain pond. All rooms have balconies or patios with chairs and cocktail tables and compact refrigerators stocked with soft drinks and bottled water.

Colour TV’S provide U.S. cable channels and other premium channels and In-room safety deposit boxes are available for a small surcharge.  The impressive internal decor features white walls and ceilings, tile floors, dark rattan furniture with tropical-print fabrics.

Restaurants and Bars

La Laguna is an air-conditioned linen-service restaurant daily serving breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. There are also Dominican, German, and Italian evening meals available on themed evenings.   

La Cana Grill is an open-air beachside restaurant and bar under a giant thatched roof that serves lunch buffets with grilled foods such as chicken, fish, and burgers. In the evening À la carte candlelight dinners including mouth watering choices for example shellfish in pineapple-sugarcane sauce, steak in béarnaise sauce, duck in fruit sauce, shrimp in butter-garlic sauce are extremely popular.

Snack foods including burgers and hot dogs are served each afternoon and also later at night.

The Asia restaurant is an air-conditioned Chinese restaurant with rose coloured walls, wooden ceiling and hanging lanterns. À la carte dinners including favourites such as wonton soup, beef with black beans, sweet-and-sour pork, Sechuan fish, chow mein and chop suey are always available.

Michelangelo restaurant is an air-conditioned Italian restaurant with high ceiling and romantic decor. Authentic À la carte meals including pizza, pasta, salmon with herbs, Italian-flavoured veal, beef, shrimp are regular menu items and extremely popular.

Please note that a Dinner dress code for men applies in all of the themed restaurants of tailored shorts or long pants, collared shirts, dress sandals or closed-toe shoes.   

The Sports Bar is an air-conditioned venue with a leisurely atmosphere, open 24 hours for sandwiches, nachos, popcorn, juices, beer, and tropical drinks.  There are Pool and football tables, with big-screen TV and two computers with dial-up Internet access (surcharges apply).

The Lobby Bar is a Mezzanine-level lounge which has a pool-view veranda and terrace and features live music each night.

The Pool Bar is open for tropical drinks from mid-morning to late in the night.

Supervised activities for children ages 4-12 are provided in the clubhouse mornings and afternoons.

Activities and Amenities

The numerous adult daytime activities include Spanish and dance lessons, after dark entertainment includes shows featuring the resort’s entertainment/activities staff in a tiered-seating theatre, preceded by a children's dancing session.  In addition an adult disco, a 24-hour sports bar that contains pool and football tables and a big-screen television are all available. There are also two computers with dial-up Internet access (surcharges apply).

A health-and-beauty spa at The Grand Paradise Bavaro includes a couples' room with massage, body wraps and scrubs, facials, reflexology, and hydrotherapy, as well as hair and nail care (surcharges apply for all services). The spa also has a sauna, a steam room, and a five-person spa. Henna tattoos and hair braiding are available near the beach (with surcharges for both).

In addition the The Grand Paradise Bavaro small fitness centre offers cardio and weight machines as well as free weights. An air-conditioned room has 24 slot machines and there are shops selling a limited amount of women's resort wear, local arts and crafts, jewellery, cigars and on one evening local artisans sell their wares in the courtyard.

Two lagoon-style pools provide freshwater swimming, the larger pool offering activities such as volleyball, basketball, and water polo. The smaller, quieter pool contains garden islands. A pear-shaped spa tub accommodates 20 guests and children can enjoy their own 25-foot-diameter pool.

Grand Paradise Bavaro's 300-yard beach frontage is 40 yards wide and features palm trees and 70 thatched shades. Non motorised water sports include snorkelling, kayaking, boogie boarding, windsurfing, sailing, and pool scuba-diving lessons.

Water sports available for a surcharge include parasailing, Jet Skiing, water skiing, wakeboarding; knee boarding, tubing, kite surfing, fishing, and banana boating. Beginner's and certification scuba-diving classes are available for surcharges, as are wreck, reef, and night dives, speedboats can also be rented. An independent operator offers guided beach excursions on ATVs, and another conducts day-trip excursions to nearby islands.
