Location
The Amaryllis Beach Resort is located immediately on the beach just 1.5 miles south of the capital, Bridgetown and approximately 10miles from Grantley Adams International Airport just 20 minutes driving time. There is a full service health spa nearby also the Garrison Savannah (for horse racing) is 0.3 miles away. St. Lawrence Gap for dining and nightlife is 2.5 miles along the south coast of the island. Also within close proximity are:- Mount Gay Rum visitors centre (4 mi), Barbados Golf Club (4.75 mi), Malibu Rum visitor centre (5 mi) Tyrol Cot Heritage Village (5 mi), Ocean Park (marine park/education centre) (5.25 mi), Foursquare Rum Factory and Heritage Park (historic site, distillery, shopping) (8.25 mi), Holetown (for shopping, dining etc) - (9.75 mi) Folkestone Marine Park - (10 mi), Flower Forest of Barbados - (12.25 mi) Sam Lord's Castle - (12.5 mi), Andromeda Botanic Gardens - (16.25 mi), Barbados Wildlife Reserve - (17.5 mi), Farley Hill National Park - (17.5 mi) and the Animal Flower Cave - (24.5 mi).
Accommodation
The hotel offers 150 guestrooms comprising wheelchair accessible rooms, studios, deluxe studios, one-bedroom suites, two-bedroom suites and suites, some rooms have kitchenettes. Room balconies and patios are furnished with cushioned chairs and cocktail tables and all face the garden or ocean. The decor includes tiled floors, floral fabrics, and rattan furniture. Televisions offer U.S./international cable channels, wireless Internet access is also available (surcharge). All rooms were completely renovated in August 2003.
Smoking is prohibited in public areas and guestrooms, smoking is permitted only on balconies or patios.
Standard Hotel Rooms (2 persons)

Rooms adapted for wheelchair users (2 persons)
Same facilities as a Hotel Room except that these rooms have two double beds, elevator access and are designed to conform to international standards for the disabled. All bedrooms are accessible by lift with an automatic opening door and a clear opening of 35 1/2 inches or 900 mm and measurements of 55 inches deep and 63 inches wide or 1,400 mm deep and 1,600 mm wide. All controls are 42 inches or 1067 mm above floor level. The lift has tactile/Braille controls and audible and visual floor indicators.
Studios (2 persons)

Deluxe Studios (2 or 3 persons)
Deluxe studios contain the same as 2 person Studios but with more space and can hold a rollaway bed for a third person.
Honeymoon Suite (2 persons)
Spectacular oceanfront Deluxe Studio contain the same facilities as the Deluxe Studio and in addition a king 4-poster bed, love seat, specially selected furnishings and honeymoon amenities.
One-Bedroom Suites (up to 3 adults or 2 adults & 2 children)
Consist of king size bed in the bedroom, sofa-bed with standing fan in the living room, with same facilities as Standard room and in addition satellite television in both the living room (this one equipped with US-standard DVD player) and the bedroom, kitchenette (equipped with four burner stove top, large refrigerator, microwave, toaster, pots, pans, cutlery & crockery).
Two-Bedroom Suites (up to 5 adults or 4 adults & 2 children)
This suite has the same facilities as a One-Bedroom Suite, but with an additional bedroom with television (satellite) and an additional patio or balcony within a private location.
This suite features two bedrooms, each with twin beds and air conditioning in the bedroom.

The Turtle Nest Beach Bar
Open everyday and located on the eastern beachfront side of the hotel, you can enjoy a tropical drink or light grilled lunch. Dress is casual.
Times: From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (except Thursdays & Saturdays, open until 10:30 p.m.) Lunch Menu available from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Dinner on Thursdays & Saturdays is served from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The 39 Steps
39 Steps Restaurant and Wine Bar is located in the Chattel Plaza. This is a stylish restaurant renowned for excellent food and is open for dinner and offers lunch on occasions. You can enjoy your meal in the cosy atmosphere of the restaurant or you can enjoy the view of the charming gardens of the Resort from the picturesque balcony.
The Coffee Bean
The Coffee Bean, is a coffee lover's dream, providing a wide array of hot and cold coffees, as well as smoothies, frescantes, teas, fresh juices and more.
Freshly made sandwiches, paninis, bagels, croissants, salads and pastas are also on offer.
Those with a sweet tooth can indulge in carrot cake, chocolate fudge cake, muffins, brownies, coconut rum pudding, coconut bread, banana bread and more!
The 19th Hole Cafe Games Room
Here you can take a break from your golf round at the Virtual Golf facility of St Andrews and choose from a range of snacks. Refresh yourself and get ready to play the back 9.

Consisting of breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Almond Tree restaurant with beverages and house brand liquor and wine throughout the day.
This plan also entitles guests to one voucher for the 39 Steps Restaurant (dinner only) and one voucher for Pizzaz Restaurant (dinner only) for each 7 day booking.
The resort offers free non-motorised water sports where boogie boards and free snorkelling equipment are available so that you can explore the beautiful sea aquarium. The Kids Club for children between the ages of 5 and 12 is also available so that you can enjoy your holiday knowing that you children are well taken care of by professionally trained personnel. Two pools and Jacuzzi are non-supervised and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. One of the pools is nestled amongst lush tropical gardens and the other faces the sea. The children's wading pool is a safe and enjoyable place for kids to swim and play.

Beach Clothing Stall allows you to purchase exotic tropical clothing from resident Beach Vendor, Reggie. Choose from shirts, shorts, dresses, wraps and slacks. Reggie also makes clothing specifically to order.
The Self Service Laundry at the Amaryllis Beach Resort has modern washers and dryers where guests can take their clothes and wash them at their convenience. Tokens can be purchased from Front Desk and detergent is available in the Convenience Store providing a very handy option to sending everything out to be dry cleaned.
Internet Access is conveniently located adjacent to the lobby area at the internet cafe with high speed internet access. Simply purchase your time voucher from the Front Desk and get connected to friends, family and work colleagues. If you are travelling with your laptop the hotel provides high speed internet access from your room for an additional charge.
The Kids Club for children between the ages of 5 and 12 is provided so that you can enjoy your holiday knowing that you children are well taken care of by professionally trained personnel. The well structured programme includes games, indoor and outdoor activity and educational sessions. A babysitting service can be arranged outside of the hours of the Kid's Club operation.

Car Rental Desk here you can arrange to hire of any type of vehicle from open topped so that you can sunbathe while you drive or air-conditioned so that you are cooled against the Caribbean heat. Coconut Car Rentals is the recommended car rental company for patrons of Amaryllis Beach Resort Hotel guests.

The Medical Centre is within walking distance and a hospital, an emergency medical clinic and dental offices are all nearby.
Disabled Facilities. The reception entrance has an automatic sliding door with an opening of 48 inches or 1219 mm wide and the reception area has an unobstructed space of no less than 1100 x 700 mm. The Reception Desks are 30 inches or 76 mm above the floor level and there is movable seating and there are no steps or thresholds.
Public passageways and doors leading to the restaurant, the internet cafe and the library are all a minimum of 33 inches or 850 mm wide and again there are no steps or thresholds. There are accessible public washrooms for ladies and gents close to the reception area and the main restaurant on ground level with no steps or ramps. The lending library, gift shop, convenience store, activities centre and extensive tropical gardens are also all easily accessible.
Lifts have a clear door opening space of 35 inches or 900 mm and the interior dimensions are 43 x 55 inches or 1100 x 1400 mm. There are tactile controls and audible and visual floor indicators.

As part owner of the Barbados Golf Club, guests receive a 15% discount on all green fees. The completely reconstructed Barbados Golf Club reopened in 2000 redesigned as Barbados' first public Championship golf course by Ron Kirby. The 6,805 yard par 72 golf course has been approved and sanctioned by the PGA European Tour to host a PGA Seniors Tournament in 2002. Magnificent trees strategically planted 25 years ago give the course a mature and testing nature. Two lakes intrude and enhance play on five holes and create a dramatic 'Amen Corner' on holes 15 & 16. A series of coral waste bunkers carved through 4 holes adds to the excitement and personality of the course.
